Who we are The “Fachklinik St. Georg” is a prevention and rehabilitation clinic for internal medicine, which has been privately owned and managed for many years by the Family Porten. The first medical service was founded in 1912 by Mr. Bernhard Porten. At that time it was housed in the ancient “Kurhaus” (cure house). Since then the institution has been constantly developed by numerous extensions and modernizations into what is now the “Fachklinik St. Georg” with 170 beds.
The “Fachklinik St. Georg” is a clinic for internal medicine in the fields of haematology/oncology, respiratory diseases/pneumology, cardiovascular diseases and disorders of the locomotor system. The rehabilitation and the aftercare treatment of patients suffering from tumours or pulmonary and respiratory diseases constitute the main therapy areas. The “Fachklinik St. Georg” is contractually eligible for health insurance reimbursement according to § 111 SGB V (social welfare law, book V). The clinic provides inpatient, partially inpatient and outpatient treatment, aftercare treatment (Anschlussheilbehandlung, AHB) and post-operative rehabilitation treatment (Anschlussrehabilitationsbehandlung, ARB). Our services are completed by prevention offers for self-payers. Our specialized clinic is eligible for reimbursement of the “Deutsche Rentenversicherung” (German pension insurance), of private and public health insurances and of other institutions providing health care allowances. Please contact us for further information on reimbursement. The clinic is authorized to carry out outpatient treatment. Therefore we are entitled to accept prescriptions of family doctors in our outpatient therapy facilities. Afterwards we charge directly your health insurance for the treatment. The quality of the medical care is guaranteed by the certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001:200 and by the quality management scheme for rehabilitation treatment issued by the “Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bund” (German public pension insurance). The “Fachklinik St. Georg” offers the most sophisticated diagnostic and therapeutic facilities for the treatment of lymphoses and can boast an outstanding knowledge concerning sarcoidosis due to a long time experience in the therapy of this disease. Since the end of the year 2008 a consultancy contract exists with a nearby urological practice, which has supported since then the special treatment of our patients suffering from urological troubles. Since our team consists of various specialists we are able to provide interdisciplinary medical care. The interdisciplinary exchange between doctors and therapists helps to conceive therapy concepts for a holistic treatment. This enables us to treat concomitant disorders of the patients, too.
