Pneumology

In our pneumology department we treat disorders and chronic diseases of the respiratory system. 

 

Indications

  • Pneumologieall forms of sarcoidosis in whatever phase
  • bronchitis
  • chronic bronchitis with or without obstruction
  • all forms of bronchial asthma
  • bronchiectasia
  • verified pulmonary fibroses
  • extrinsic allergic alveovitis
  • pneumoconioses
  • counter-indications: cardiac decompensation; 

    active tuberculosis


Therapy goals

The pneumological rehabilitation in case of chronic pulmonary diseases aims at relieving the pain and at enhancing the physical abilities in order to assure the greatest possible independence of the patient, to improve the quality of life and to facilitate the reintegration into the ordinary private and professional life. 

The goals of the pneumological therapy are always adapted to the individual disease pattern:

Obstructive bronchitis:

  • support of the troubled bronchial cleaning function
  • relief in case of respiratory difficulties during physical activity
  • preservation of the thorax mobility and of the diaphragm power
  • maintenance or improvement of the endurance capacity


Bronchial asthma:

  • attenuation of anxiety in an asthma attack
  • relief in case of respiratory difficulties
  • relief of respiratory obstructions, triggered by undefined stimuli 
  • suppression of unproductive cough


Pulmonary emphysema

  • relief in case of expiratory difficulties during physical activity 
  • maintenance of the endurance capacity depending upon individual resilience 
  • avoidance of harmful respiration manners
  • preservation of the existing thorax mobility and diaphragm power

 Offers in the pneumological therapy

  • respiration therapy (single therapy with the physiotherapist)
  • respiration therapy in the group
    the groups are always put together according to the performance level:
    1.  fully resilient
    2. moderately resilient
    3. slightly resilient
    4. almost not resilient
    5. Sarcoidosis group (performance, power and endurance)
  • relaxation therapy:
    "Qi Gong"
    autogenic training
    progressive muscle relaxation
  • endurance gymnastics (morning exercise)
